Beloved of God,

We want to thank you for your prayers and support through this difficult time of tests and waiting. We
have been as surprised as anyone by this recent turn of events.

Just a few weeks ago, Randy was feeling off and we decided to head to the doctor on September
3rd.  By that evening we were directed to the ER and found out that he was in sudden kidney failure.
After a lot of tests and two biopsies, it was discovered that he has a pair of diseases which have
resulted in his kidney failure. The first is called Light Chain Disposition Disease and the second is
Multiple Myeloma. Treatments have begun and will continue for the foreseeable future.

Randy is beginning to feel better. He has some appetite and is able to take daily walks around the
unit.  He is looking forward to getting outside and coming home, we hope perhaps in the next week.

We thank you for your patience and understanding. As you can imagine, this has been very difficult for
us and we are still adjusting to the thought - let alone the reality - of these new circumstances.  Your
support has freed us to focus on what is happening here, knowing that you surround us with your love
and prayers.  We are grateful for your ongoing prayers.

We are leaning into the Lord, who is upholding and strengthening us with His never-failing presence
and love.

Peace,

The Brubakers
